Gen2 Aisin AF40-6 Transmission Custom Tune!

Adds Aisin AF40-6 TCM Reading, Flashing, Datalogging and Custom tuning to your existing Autocal V3 handheld system.The factory automatic transmission limits the allowed torque to 300 Nm (220 lb-ft) in 1st and 370 NM(273 lb-ft) in 2nd gear and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) in gears 3-6.  Brake torque was also limited to ~ 247 lb-ft which prevents building torque while stationary by pressing the accelerator pedal while the brake is applied.  All of these factors severely limited the acceleration performance for the 0-60mph and 1/4 mile times.  Raising these limiters now allows for  aggressive launches at full power with much quicker 60ft, 0-60mph and 1/4 mile time

In the past, when we tuned  engines with the Aisin AF40 automatic transmissions we had to hide how much torque the engine was actually making so that it transmitted a value to the TCM that was below the factory TCM torque limiters.  If the TCM sees an engine torque value higher than an allowed torque limit it forces the engine to reduce torque to below the limiter.   The TCM can command the ECM to reduce both the throttle angle and the ignition timing to reduce torque below the gear torque and brake torque limits.  We can now update both the ECM calibration to reflect the accurate torque it is making while simultaneously optimizing the transmission calibration to provide increased line pressures for improved torque holding capacity and optimizing the solenoid operation for quicker/firmer shifts with less delay (tap shift response is improved).   This combination will dramatically improve the acceleration performance and reduce transmission slipping and flaring under much higher than stock torque and power levels.  I have tested torque levels of over 505 lb-ft shifting at redline without noticeable shift flare (converter slip).

Data logging the AF40-6 after the ECM and TCM custom tune updates are applied will now capture the actual engine torque and power.  If you own an eSid3 then this will also show torque and hp accurately on your eSid3 dash displays after the updates are installed.
